I want to go hiking and read poems.

I poem tagged a chalkboard in the science building yesterday because I believe in freedom of expression, no matter whose turf I'm on. Then I sat in the cove with the best view and watched my favorite British actors be interviewed on American talk shows while I waited for History class.
There is something about the horizons in Oregon that makes the mountains look grander than in other places. I am constantly fascinated by it, and consistently in love with it. Nature trumps mankind all days.
It's the smallness of being a human being that I appreciate most.

Now I am off to make copies of martial arts certificates for my kiddos, drink lots of tea, and absolutely ignore my homework so that I can write a piece on the outdoors.
I want to climb big rocks these days. And just sit and sit and sit and stare at the big blue expanse and breathe deep as my chest allows. I love my lungs.

I am thinking a sister date on early Friday morning is in order. We'll hike the butte before the sun comes up and read Dickinson at the top. And we'll drink good tea and laugh.
