I was never a poet.

I am currently obsessed with Madeline. I think in one of those brainstorm webs. You know the ones the teachers draw on the boards at school when they're pretending to involve you in some really simple process? They make you feel special. I think like one of those. Jumping from one idea to another. (Perhaps that's why I never finish anything).
I was thinking about tigers last night. And I remembered Ludwig Bemelmans amazing illustration of a tiger in his Madeline. So I read the book. And the next one. And the next one. And the next one.
And I got extremely maybe just a little bit jealous. I have never been very good at rhyming. So I never really tried to write anything that rhymed. Lately though I have been reading Shel Silverstein, Roald Dahl, Dr. Seuss, and now Bemelmans. All of whom rhyme. All of whom are my heroes.
I think I need to practice rhyming.
See how this goes? Tigers. Madeline. Rhyming.
Nothing to do with one another. Everything to do with one another. Ridiculous.

Today I am going to paint. I am going to rhyme. I am going to read more James Bond books. And I am going to possibly sew small stuffed toys because I feel like it. Maybe a tiger.
I just want to sit in the sun for a while, and breathe summer.
Do summer things.
